A Little Life Update

Hello everyone! It’s been a while, but with good reason. We have some very exciting news to share with you! Our first little Bae will be arriving this summer! YAY!

We are so happy and excited for this new change in our lives and can’t wait for little Bae to arrive (yes, we call it Bae!). It still seems so unreal to think there is a baby growing inside of me, but every time I feel that little kick, it’s a big reminder that this is, in fact, happening! I am currently in the middle of my second trimester (just over halfway) and I’m feeling much better than the first few months. The struggle was very real with morning sickness! All-day nausea, headaches, bloating and feeling tired all the time! I was coming home from work and wanting to go to bed at 5pm everyday. It was a hard three months, but all worth it for our little Bae!

Home Decor

Living Room Redesign Reveal

We’ve been living in our townhouse for a little over 3 years now and just recently decided to start “decorating” our humble home. Why did it take us this long? Well, we simply just couldn’t make up our minds! And because we didn’t have a whole lot of money left to splurge on designer sofas and overpriced picture frames after our crazy wedding last year. So now that life has settled, making our home a little bit more cozy became a higher priority.

We’re super happy with our refreshed living room redesign! Everything is still in progress, but our living room is starting to come together. I love simple, minimal design and tried to keep those values in line with the decor I chose. We also did a couple DIY items (thanks to my bro) to save some money and they turned out beautiful! Furniture really doesn’t have to cost a lot to be pretty!

Travel

Little Ghent

The city of Gent is one of the most charming, old world cities I have ever visited. I especially love the beautiful architecture, the skinny cobbled side streets and the smell of freshly made liege waffles.

My husband was fortunate enough to grow up in this lovely city and laughs every time I’m in awe finding castles in the middle of “downtown.” I grew up in Vancouver, where there is certainly no ancient buildings to be found. The most picturesque architecture can be found at the Graslei. It is one of my favourite streets in the city and you can see why. It’s like Disneyland here!

The Big 30!

If you asked me a few months ago how I wanted to celebrate my 30th birthday, I would have said “definitely a huge, all-out birthday bash!” In reality, however, it turned out to be a very low-key event, the complete opposite of what I planned, but subconsciously what I preferred! Don’t get me wrong, it was still full of all my favourite things: a beautiful cake, balloons galore and a pretty dress! But these days, I’m finding my preference for a nice night in, binge watching Breaking Bad (which I never watched when it aired on TV) trumps greatly over anything else!
