Little Ghent

The city of Gent is one of the most charming, old world cities I have ever visited. I especially love the beautiful architecture, the skinny cobbled side streets and the smell of freshly made liege waffles.

My husband was fortunate enough to grow up in this lovely city and laughs every time I’m in awe finding castles in the middle of “downtown.” I grew up in Vancouver, where there is certainly no ancient buildings to be found. The most picturesque architecture can be found at the Graslei. It is one of my favourite streets in the city and you can see why. It’s like Disneyland here!

This was a first visit back to Belgium after our wedding, so my husband and I decided to take some engagement style photos in his hometown. It was so much fun getting to dress up and have this beautiful city as our backdrop. Thanks to the talented Gert Huygaerts for capturing these great pictures for us!
