In today’s post, I’ll be sharing with you my newborn baby boy haul! Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been hit with a sudden need to prepare for my baby boy’s arrival. It’s a constant, nagging feeling as if the universe was telling me that this baby might come early. And because I literally haven’t done anything, I got freaked out and started a todo/shopping list. Part of the reason I didn’t really prepare earlier was because I knew I won’t be needing as much this time. I have a ton of stuff I’ll be reusing from my daughter so in the back of my mind the only things I really needed to buy where essentials like diapers, wipes, formula and maybe a few clothes. But because I’m a firm believer in gut feelings and intuition, I decided to place a few orders online over the weekend and do a bulk haul of everything I need just in case. I also started my hospital bag, baby’s hospital bag and Audrey’s overnight bag she will be taking to Grandma’s house when I go into labour. I definitely feel a lot more prepared now that I have all the essentials. So what did I end up buying? Check out my haul below! 🙂
I didn’t think I needed to buy a lot of clothes for this little guy but after going through Audrey’s baby clothes, there wasn’t much selection for the bigger sized items that I could reuse. I promised myself to be practical, but of course I got excited a went a little crazy. Clothes are my weakness! I placed a big order on Zara (one of my favourite stores for baby clothes) and a few I ordered from local shops like KEWE Clothing.
How adorable are these little outfits! So cute! Links to all the pieces I got are below:
1. Zara – Elf Knit Lounge Hat
2. Zara – Flocked Animal T-Shirt
3. Zara – Lounge Pants (2-Pack) – Orange & Grey
4. Zara – Lounge Pants (2 Pack) – Blue & Grey
5. Zara – Plain Henley T-Shirt
6. Zara – Plain Ribbed Leggings – Blue
7. Zara – Plain Ribbed Leggings – Grey
8. Zara – Striped Top – Blue
9. Zara – Striped Top – Grey
10. Zara – Blended Knit Overalls
11. Baby Scratch Mittens
12. HeyFolks – Moccasins
The other items I picked up were swaddle blankets, hooded towels, a matching robe and swaddle set, diaper cream, bottle brush and a sound machine. I really love the Milk & Cookies print from KEWE clothing so I actually bought a swaddle blanket, pants and bib in the same print! The material is super soft and cozy. The matching robe and swaddle set (blue with white polka dots) is what I will be wearing after delivery and will be swaddling the baby in his matching blanket and hat. So adorable and perfect for an announcement photo! I’m really excited about the owl sound machine mainly because it’s portable. Last time we had a night light that played sounds (we still use it as a lamp) but this one I can take with me in the car and pretty much everywhere I go. With Audrey I had to use my phone and pull up Spotify, haha. So this is a bit more convenient, I think.
I bought a few new crib sheets and changing pad covers because most of Audrey’s linens were pink and girly. This XO pattern from Kushies is so adorable and fits the nursery, so I picked the same print for all the sheets: crib sheets, change pad covers, bassinet cover and the play pen cover.
A few other items I got were mostly essentials: formula, baby soap, glass bottles and a new sterilizer because the one we had before is quite worn out already. Formula is something I want on hand this time just incase something happens and I can’t breastfeed or I have to stay at the hospital without the baby (which is what happened last time.. a dramatic story for another time). I also want to try using glass bottles this time around because the Avent plastic bottles we used before were good, but after being thrown in the dishwasher time after time, they eventually get scratched up. I also sometimes find the soap smell and taste sticks to the plastic and I have to rewash them again to get it out (maybe.. that’s a dishwasher thing?). So I’m hoping these glass bottles will be better.
These are a few misc items I purchased when Audrey was born and I thought it would be nice to have the same ones for this little baby as well. The file keeper is essential for me because I keep all the important documents and paperwork in there. Audrey also has the same hand and foot picture frame that I thought would be neat to have for the baby too, because you know… matching.
If you have any other suggestions of things I should pick up, missed, or should have, please leave them in the comments below! I’m also wondering for those of you who have a boy and a girl, are boys different? Are they the same? Is there anything I need to know? Tips/Tricks/Suggestions? I would love to read your comments below!
